Blod’s realm is wild & natural, drawing inspiration from works of art and old botanical books. 

Blod is short for the Welsh word for flower, Blodyn. In the ancient Welsh stories of the Mabinogion, Blodeuwedd was a woman created by wizards out of flowers. Kate Aslett, founder of Blod, grew up in South Wales, the daughter of an art teacher and a book seller (also wizards). Kate’s great grandfather was head gardener at Gregynog Hall in mid Wales during the 1930’s and his love of plants was passed down to Kate via her nanny Joan who was always in the garden. Kate spent her early career in Costume for the film industry where she developed her love of colour combinations and textures.
